Learn
From a "LEARN" perspective, University of Galway recognises the importance of increasing sustainability knowledge among all campus users. We embrace research as key to developing new technologies and new ways of thinking on sustainability.
Our strategic aim is to embed sustainability literacy into all aspects of learning and research, so that our entire campus community will gain the necessary knowledge and skills to become sustainability role models and leaders in their service to the outside world. We will strive to position our researchers to work to address some of the world’s greatest sustainability challenges from energy security to food security to protecting endangered species.
University of Galway empowers students to take action for a sustainable future, by striving to ensure that teaching and research is responsive to local, national and international needs and by supporting a large number of research centres related to sustainability and environment. Our Learning and Research portfolio feeds into a range of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the local regional and national level.
