🌱 Celebrating Student Changemakers: Announcing the Winners of the 2025 Student Sustainability Leadership Awards!

The University of Galway is delighted to announce the winners of the 2025 Student Sustainability Leadership Awards. This year's winners are inspiring  leaders, visionaries, and change-makers who exemplify the university's commitment to building a more just and sustainable future.

Meet the 2025 Awards Winners

Diníon Carton, a third-year Physics student

Hugh Gately, a third-year English and Creative Writing student

As sustainability interns, Diníon and Hugh will work collaboratively to lead engagement initiatives and create content that promotes awareness and drives action on sustainability issues. In this role, they will serve as a pivotal voice for students, representing and amplifying the student perspective on sustainability across campus.

Now in its 8th year, the Student Sustainability Leadership Awards Programme recognises students who have gone above and beyond to champion environmental and social sustainability on campus, in the community, and beyond. These awards highlight the incredible work our students are doing to create meaningful change.

Congratulations to Diníon and Hugh, we are delighted to have you on board!
